I graduated from Berkeley City College in 2020 with an AA in Multimedia Arts Digital Imaging. During the summer of 2021, I had the good fortune to intern with BRIDGEGOOD, a non-profit whose goal is to equip creatives with the skills needed to succeed in the UX/UI, Product, and Visual Design fields. From this internship, I gained an in-depth knowledge of the UX/UI design field and a thirst for more. Currently, I am seeking to enhance and deepen my knowledge of design.
Being a neurodivergent/dyslexic designer, I am acutely aware of how crucial accessibility is in the design process and how often its importance is overlooked. With an estimated 780 million dyslexics worldwide, I believe accessibility should play an important role in the design process.
While being neurodivergent has been a tough and lonely road, I have learned much from the challenge. Firstly, I have come to know my strengths and how to capitalize on them. Additionally, I have learned: empathy, the art of deep listening, and how to engage without making assumptions - all of which have enabled me to authentically connect with others in order to fully understand their meanings and needs. Above all else, I have learned the benefits of patience, with myself and with others.
